Mai Ta was born in Saigon, Vietnam. She is currently a sophomore at School of Visual Arts in Manhattan, New York. Her major is Illustration and she is expecting to graduate in 2019.
She explores the uncanny through choosing subjects that are particularly important to her self-growth. With splashes of red and earthy tones, she creates powerful paintings that portray the rustic ambience of Vietnamese art, while incorporating provocative messages about contemporary society.
